My new venture.

Welcome to Suburban Edge.  I’ve never had a blog before, unless you count some mopey LiveJournal posts in college.  Referencing Live Journal probably reveals I’m 33.

I did the standard path of four years college, fumbling in my 20s, finding a secure job, and buying my first place.  Now that I’m here, I’m having a lot of fun putting it together, but would like a forum to talk about my design plans instead of boring my mom and my friends to death.

There are a lot of blogs are out there, but most seem to skew towards married with kids, living in detached houses in suburbs.  While I do live in the suburbs, I’m single with no plans for children, and living in a mid-range condo.

To twist a cliché, my goal is to show how to have Belevedere taste on a Smirnoff budget.  I’ll be showing how achieve a hopefully high-end look at a reasonable price.

The blog will be a mix of my bigger projects (renovating the kitchen, updating the bathrooms) and the everyday ways I express my design OCD (restyling accessories, making art, moving around furniture).  The first couple posts will be a curriculum vitea of what I’ve done in the 9 months I’ve lived here so far.
